Structure for Advanced Courses

(updated 23 Dec. '07)

- Courses 1B and 2 have eight lessons each. Additional Noahide courses are under development for '08.

- Courses are conducted in English, self-paced, and can be started at any time.

- Enrolled students are sent the text of each lesson by email, along with an open-note quiz. Most of the course material is taken from carefully selected resources that are available on the Internet. (Correspondence courses by regular mail are being developed.)

- The student should read the material in each lesson carefully, and may send in a reasonable number of questions by email to the Director. Answers to questions of general interest may be sent out to all the students enrolled in the course.

- Email addresses of students are hidden in the group communications, so all students can maintain privacy.

- The quizzes are intended to verify that the student is reading and properly understanding the material. Each quiz should be filled out and returned via email. Feedback is provided, and the quizzes are marked with a letter grade.

- A Certificate of Completion (PDF file, suitable for color printing and framing) is sent as an email attachment to the student at the successful conclusion of the course.

- Enrollment details:

- A student may enroll in 1 or 2 courses per session

- Number of students enrolled per session is limited

- Enrollment is open for anyone 18 or older (parents may enroll supervised teenagers)

- Full enrollment includes evaluation of quizzes with feedback, receiving enrichment files with more in-depth answers, and participating with questions and answers

- The lessons are developed from material that has been selected as permissible for study by Noahides, which may include:

- Hebrew Bible (Tanach) with authentic translation
- Talmud sources dealing with the course subjects
- Later Jewish Sages (including Rambam's Mishneh Torah)
- Teachings of reliable and knowledgeable Orthodox Rabbis up to the present time.

The end result of each class will be the accomplishment of a careful reading of carefully selected Torah material, that is very useful for the proper understanding and observance of the Seven Noahide Commandments as a faithful Noahide. This understanding is gained by careful study of the material, and taking advantage of the opportunity to ask questions, comment, and discuss anything that is not yet completely clear or that may seem at first glance to be problematic.

Note: Our referencing of particular pages on a larger web site does NOT mean that we recommend any other material on that web site. Students are encouraged to ask the Director about the appropriateness or permissibility of any material that has not been specifically recommended.
