Insects (in fruit and vegetables) - sodergard - 07-09-2009

Hi! I wonder: shall we check our food for insects? Are we prohibited from eating alive insects in for example vegetables?
And what about insects on frozen/boiled food, they are dead but frozen to death/boiled alive?

It is not forbidden for Gentiles to eat whole, or parts of, live or dead insects.

Small insects or insect eggs in fruit, vegetables, meal or flour are usually not noticable by sight or by eating unless you are looking for them carefully.

You can check for these small insects if eating them is distasteful to you. But for a Gentile, it should not be done as if it was a relgious obligation (a commandment).

Hi,

I am agree with Michael. You have to look carefully while you eat if you want to see insect eggs in fruit, vegetables, or meal. You can check out insects while you are going to eat fruit. Gentiles eating whole insects is not forbidden by the Seven Laws.
