Prohibition of cheating
#5
Question received:

Quote:I want to sell virtual gold for real money but its against the game's Terms of Service. The games themselves sell officially inside the game virtual gold for real money. So I might be making the company lose money. According to my understanding if I get caught it's not punishable by law and the only thing the company will do is ban me from the game.
Am I allowed to sell virtual gold/currency for real money? Can I go against the terms of service?

Answer:

When you joined the game, you signed on to a contract with them, that you will abide by the game's Terms of Service. Therefore, you have a moral imperative to abide by the agreement you made. If you remain in the game and at the same time violate the Terms of Service that you had agreed to, you would be engaging in a deceptive practice.

That is an unrighteous behavior. Recall that the Book of Genesis describes the deception which Lavan (Laban), an unrighteous person, repeatedly committed by not abiding by the agreements he made with Jacob.
